It’s official, the warmer weather is here, or at least, it is on the horizon. We have waited all winter for this day to arrive and now that it is here, we want to take advantage of it to the full. It won’t be long before we are heading out into our yards to enjoy a backyard barbecue, a little bit of sunshine, the warm feel of fresh grass under our feet and maybe even a dip in the swimming pool. There are so many things to enjoy while we are outside, and planting beautiful flowers in your garden is a step you can take so your family can enjoy the outdoors even more.
Although many people desire to have a garden, let’s face it, it can be difficult to grow beautiful flowers. There is a lot of work that typically goes into it and if you find that you are working hard in the garden rather than getting to enjoy it, you might want to look for a simpler solution. Just because something is simple does not mean that it has to lack beauty. In fact, those two factors come together quite nicely in the vanilla strawberry hydrangea and once you see it for yourself, you will want to have it in your own outdoor living space.

According to the Animal Nursery and Landscape Association, the vanilla strawberry hydrangea is the Plant of the Year.
The colors of the plant, which is also known as Paniculata Renhy, do change over time. This is similar to other hydrangeas, but this one is special.
When the flowers first start growing, they are white with only a little pink. As time passes, however, the pink becomes even more noticeable.
One of the best things about this hydrangea is the fact that it doesn’t take much maintenance. You just need to give it enough space in a sunny spot.

Since these plants can get to be 6 feet wide, you need to keep them far enough away from other plants. Make sure that they get enough water and as the days get hot, continue to water them.
The best part is, the winter frost is not going to kill them. They will be back next year.
