One of the common problems that we may have to face as homeowners is the invasion of our property. I’m not talking about people invading it, I’m talking about unwanted insects.
One of the more common insects that can invade the home are cockroaches. Once they get a foothold in the home, it seems as if it is impossible to remove them but that isn’t true.
You don’t have to call a professional and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to remove cockroaches from the home. In fact, you only need this simple solution that is budget-friendly, environmentally friendly, and easy to put into practice.
I’m talking about creating cockroach bait balls. These will lure in the cockroaches that are in the home and after they eat the dough-like mixture, they will die.
To get started, mix the yoke of a single egg with about 3 tablespoons of boric acid. You can add more or less boric acid until the mixture is similar to pizza dough.
You can then use a spoon to scoop out small portions of the mixture and form them into little balls. Put them on some parchment paper and allow them to dry until they are hard. It will take about an hour.
After you have made the bait balls, you should put them in areas where you will typically find the cockroaches. Closets, basements, under the kitchen sink, or any dark, damp area is a good place to start.
You should also be careful that you don’t allow the bait balls to be seen or touched by children or pets. If they would eat them, they could get sick. Also, make sure you wash the spoon that you use carefully after using it to form the bait balls.
That’s all that is needed. Simply repeat the process until the cockroaches are gone completely.
