Ingenious Kayak Folds Up And Fits In A Backpack

There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Some people enjoy hiking, taking things slow and seeing the world as you walk by it. Other people may enjoy riding a bike, running or perhaps swimming. One activity that offers adventure, fun and plenty of the great outdoors is kayaking. Up until this time, however, there has always been a barrier that kept people from doing it, getting the kayak to the area and storing it when you are done.

Although those barriers may have been a problem at some time in the past, they are no longer an issue, thanks to the Pakayak. It is a unique invention that helps kayakers fold down a standard kayak and fit it into a backpack. There will no longer be any areas that are off-limits because you can simply pack in the kayak and get started.

The kayak itself is 14 feet long when it is fully assembled. It only takes a few minutes to get it to its full length and when you are ready to pack it in, it folds down into a 3 1/2 foot piece. Each of the pieces fits inside of the next, just like a Russian nesting doll.

The Pakayak is easy to carry as a backpack so you can get from one place to another. It also has the added convenience of easy and convenient storage once you get it home. If you’re ready to take your kayaking to the next level, then this is one option you will not want to overlook.

Of course, you shouldn’t expect to get one of these for free. An inexpensive kayak will run you about $300 but the Pakayak carries a price tag of $1795.

If you think a kayak that folds up and stores easily is up your alley, then you are going to enjoy these designs by Crystal Kayak. The clear kayaks got their start about four years ago and they are awesome.

It allows for beautiful views under the water as you are kayaking. They are also quite strong and tough enough to handle some rugged conditions. Since there made with Lexan, they are also lightweight enough to pack in any area because they only weigh 47 pounds.

“We want it to be perfectly easy to use, whether you’re a beginner or an expert,” Brian Maxfield of Crystal Kayak told Travel + Leisure.

In a similar way to the Pakyak, you will spend about $1500 for a Crystal Kayak. You do get to paddles, seats and flotation pouches along with zippered nylon covers.

So when is your next kayaking adventure?
