There’s just something so compelling about classic Volkswagen vehicles. These round curvy cars and buses have such a unique style that’s way different from anything any other car company has ever put out.
I have to confess that I’ve always wanted to own one. And if you happen to love these beautiful vehicles too, then you’ll absolutely flip when you see what one company is doing with custom-designed boats.
You see, there’s a company out there called Floating Motors who are designing VW modeled pontoon boats.
Say what? I can honestly admit this is the first time I’ve ever heard of such a thing, but I’m digging the sound of it, aren’t you?
Good golly! Can you believe that? A floating van boat on the water? Now, if that isn’t cool, I don’t know what is!
The concept is the brainchild of Pierpaolo Lazzarini, an Italian designer, and owner of Lazzarini Design.
His latest startup, a company called Floating Motors, seeks to turn classic vehicles into floating works of art.
Now it should be said that these are not yet fully-functional vehicles you can drive, but rather fancy floats you can lounge inside of.
Each float is made from fiberglass or carbon fiber. The fiberglass floats are then retrofitted with an intricately designed faux hull. However, they are working on making them motorized.
The project is still in its early concept stages, but it looks pretty promising. I’m sure it won’t take much to figure out how to turn them into fully-operational motorized water vehicles.
